We are committed to protecting your privacy during your visits to Conister Trust Limited and subsidiary companies' ("Conister") website and recognise our responsibility to keep the information you provide to us confidential at all times.

The Isle of Man Data Protection Act 2002 came into force on 1 April 2003 and implements the provisions of the European Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC.

What information is used by Conister?

We store and process the personal information that you or third parties have provided to us: to supply you with the information and product(s) and/or service(s) that either you have requested from us or wish to provide to us; to manage our relationship with you; to prepare management and accounting information necessary for the conduct of our business, including audit; for the prevention and detection of crime, including fraud detection and debt collection; to keep you informed about the products and services that we have, or plan to have, available; and to comply with any and all statutory responsibilities. If you do not wish to receive information about our products or services please let us know by either calling into the registered office or writing to us.

Your personal information is only collected and used for the purpose(s) for which it was provided and of which you were aware and agreed with at the time your information was supplied to us. It is never sold or shared with any other third parties unless you have been advised otherwise at the time of giving your details. Your details are collected when you communicate with us in any way, e.g. when you meet with us, complete forms, correspond with us, telephone us, or send us email.

Some information is held and processed by our Internet Service Provider, but it is only held and processed for and on our behalf and under our instruction.

Disclosure of personal information

We will not disclose any such information outside of the Conister Trust Group except:-

  1. to credit reference and fraud prevention agencies and other organisations who may record, use and give out information to other lenders or insurers. The information may be used to make assessments for credit and all types of insurance, for debt tracing and to prevent fraud and money laundering;
  2. to persons acting as our agents under a strict code of confidentiality;
  3. to anyone to whom we transfer or may transfer our rights and duties under your Customer Agreement; or
  4. as required by law or regulation.

Otherwise we will keep the information about you confidential.

If your personal information is disclosed and/or transferred outside of the Isle of Man or UK it will be done so in accordance with the requirements of the EU Data Protection Directive which requires the same level of protection to be afforded to your personal information.

Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of information which can be use to record details of a person's visit to a website. The information, when used in this way, is stored on the computer's hard drive and allows the web servers to recognise the person concerned when he revisits the website.

We currently do not use cookies to collect any information with regards to your visit to this website. If in the future we do commence the use of cookies you will be informed of that fact via this Privacy Statement.

What is aggregate information?

Aggregate information is used to show us the total number of visits to our website and which parts of the site are used and most. Aggregate information does not identify individuals, as is does not contain any personal data. This information helps us in developing our website and improving the service we offer you.
